Chocontá, whose colonial name is Leal y Noble Villa de Santiago de Chocontá, is a municipa lity of Cundinamarca (Colombia), located in the province of Almeidas.
It connects to Bogota on on North Central Core. Chocontá in Muisca language means "good ally tillage."
It bordered on the north by Villapinzón and Cucunubá, on the south by Sesquilé and Machetá, by the East with Machetá and Tibirita, by the West with Suesca.

WELFARE FOR OUR SENIORS
In 2015 thanks to the work of the Lord Mayor Jose Pinzon Jaime Riaño and Secretary of Social Development by Dr. Alexander Chaparro food security program aimed at 70 Aging in vulnerable conditions called "SERVING HOT" began.
The program seeks to provide daily ration means a type lunch to improve the quality of life of these people.
AGRIBUSINESS SCHOOL OPENING NEW OFFICE
Thanks to the efforts of Mayor Jose Jaime Pinzon Riano, the Rector of the Agroindustrial College Santiago de Chocontá Humberto Ballen and Social Development Director Alexander Chaparro, it was possible to make a lease for the premises of the former school Our Lady of the Rosary, for that 570 elementary school students of the Agribusiness Association Chocontá have a better place to study.
The 09 day of July 2015 the opening of this office is held, the event was attended by the Mayor of Chocontá, the first lady and social management, planning director, the director of social development, Agroindustrial school managers, directors of FDI Rufino Cuervo, Municipality councilors, parents and students.
The art schools of the house of culture of Chocontá (Dance, Choir and violin) occurred.
PHYSICAL THERAPY IN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
The secretary of social development led by Dr. Alexander Chaparro has a physical therapy area served by the therapist Sandra Carrillo; this site will cater for 15 to 20 patients a week for physical rehabilitation.
